49th Annual MIAAA Spring Conference
Tuesday, April 7th to Friday April 10th, 2020
2020 Conference Overview
The theme for the 2020 MIAAA Spring Conference is “Getting it Done”. It seems quite appropriate given the many responsibilities athletic administrators must perform throughout the day, the week, the month and the year. As each of us acknowledges, a myriad of tasks and challenges may present themselves at any time. Preparation is a must in order for us to “get things done”. The 2020 conference will once again offer six (6) Leadership Training Classes along with relevant topics to further enhance our very own professional development and knowledge.
Workshops dealing with Diversity and Culture, Creating Social Media Graphics, the Maine Principals’ Association Points of Interest, Vaping ‘What you need to Know”, and a session on Sports Medicine presented by Dr. William Heinz. His session should prove to be very informative but will allow time for Q & A.
We will once again offer a middle level component to the conference. It will offer leadership training and two possible workshops.
As you may already know, the MPA is changing its Webpage / platform. The new company will be rSchoolToday (www.rSchoolToday.com). They were vendors at our last spring conference and will be once again. The MIAAA Board has asked that they provide a “training session” during a workshop. This should prove to be extremely valuable for all administrators.
Vendors play a very important role not only in the conference but to the overall success of our conference. Please take the time to speak with as many as possible.
The Luncheon and the Banquet continue to be highlights to the conference as we recognize students and our peers for their outstanding contributions to educational-based activities.
Each year our members speak of the “collegiality” that impresses people the most. Hope to spend time together “Getting it Done”.
